Jagged Little Pill, based on the Grammy Award winning album by Alanis Morissette, is a powerful rock musical that explores themes of identity, addiction, healing, and empowerment. At its heart is the Healy family, whose outwardly perfect lives begin to crack, revealing struggles that mirror the complexities of modern life.

With its chart topping hits and new songs by Alanis Morissette and Glen Ballard, Jagged Little Pill is an emotional, high energy story of pain, growth, and catharsis.

Dance Auditions:

Auditioners have access to three YouTube videos to help them prepare for the dance portion of their auditions:

Jagged Little Pill: General Auditions Dance Tutorial

This is a beginner friendly tutorial designed for actors and singers auditioning for LEAD ROLES and/or the SINGING ENSEMBLE. Please prepare this routine of you have signed up for the General Auditions

Jagged Little Pill: Dance Ensemble Call Tutorial

This tutorial is intended for advanced dancers auditioning for the DANCE ENSEMBLE. It features more complex choreography that allows individuals to showcase their technique, versatility, and personal dance style. Please prepare this routine if you are attending the Dance Call.

Everything “You Oughta Know” About Your Jagged Little Pill Dance Audition

This third video addresses frequently asked questions related to the dance requirements for both the General Auditions and the Dance Call.

While all auditioners will be given 20 minutes to review the choreography in person, it is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to watch and familiarize yourself with the appropriate tutorial in advance of your audition.

Those signed up for the Dance Call will not be asked to sing or cold read. If you are an advanced dancer interested in auditioning for a lead role, please sign up for the General Auditions and alert us prior to your audition via email at info@tototoo.ca that you would like to dance the more complex routine as part of your audition. We will accommodate your request by allowing you to perform the advanced dance routine at the beginning of your audition session.

Music Auditions:

For auditions, our Music Director asks that you please prepare a 16–32 bar cut of sheet music. Contemporary rock, pop, or musical theatre selections are preferred. Songs from Jagged Little Pill are welcome, but please focus on showcasing your authentic voice rather than an impression of Alanis or the Broadway album —we’re excited to hear you.

  • Auditionees should provide legible sheet music in the correct key with the piano accompaniment included and the cuts (starting and ending points) clearly marked (lead sheets not accepted).
  • Please bring printed sheet music in a double-sided and hole punched format.
  • Auditionees are encouraged to send their sheet music to steve@tototoo.ca prior to their audition.
  • A professional piano accompanist will be provided at the audition.
  • No recordings, a capella auditions, or self-accompaniment will be permitted.

A NOTE FROM DIRECTOR LISA DUNN

“At its core, Jagged Little Pill is about honesty, empathy, and the courage to face ourselves. We are looking for performers who bring truth and emotional authenticity to every moment. Come ready to sing, move, and connect deeply with this story.”
