In 1975 in the dried up town of McCarthy, Texas, members of the "Disciples of James Dean" fan club meet for a reunion at Kressmont's Five and Dime on the 20th anniversary of the legendary film star's death. The arrival of a vaguely familiar stranger sets off a series of reminiscences that force each of them to confront the things they've tried to remember as well as what they've tried to forget.
